Locally owned and operated, The Flower Pot doles out fresh bouquets themed for 20 different occasions and offers same-day delivery on orders place before 1 p.m. The bloom boutique also offers gift baskets, greeting cards, and holiday decorating services, helping to prevent the spontaneous growth of kneecap elf hats and elbow turkeys among locals who would have otherwise suppressed their festive cheer. I just wanted to say THANK-YOU SO MUCH for delivering a gourmet basket today for my Dad's Birthday. I called at 5:15 pm yesterday (Friday) for a next day delivery and was really surprised when you said you could do it! I am not sure who I spoke with on the phone, but they were delightful and very helpful.

The basket arrived at ~ Noon today and it was reported as "fantastic".

Again, I can't thank you enough for helping me out on such short notice. You are the best!

THANK YOU so much for the bouquet of flowers you delivered to my friend at UT Hospital today. Another friend was in the room with her when they were delivered and said that they were amazing! I've only lived in Knoxville for a couple of years and wasn't sure which florist to use for something urgent like this---I took a guess, looked at your website, and made an excellent decision! I will look forward to using your shop again and will highly recommend you to others! Thanks, Kelly

RE: Receipt

Good morning, Mary Beth,

I really appreciate your shop taking care of our employee and his family. I spoke with him right after he received it and he was so appreciative. I know they really enjoyed it.
Thanks again….have a good day.

The Flower Pot on Green Urbanite

Thank you to Green Urbanite for mentioning us on your blog!! You can see the post here: http://www.thegreenurbanite.com/The_Green_Urbanite_Keep_it_.html

or read it below

This is the recycling section of our green ‘lil site...so why, do you ask, am I writing about a flower shop?! Well, it was recycling, in fact, that first brought my attention to The Flower Pot.

Located on the corner of Church and S. Gay is a cute little flower shop with a sign out front that welcomes you in for free flowers if your name is this or that * (each day they present 2 first names that get a free flower) If you are lucky enough to stop by on a Friday, you get a cupcake!

As I peered through their large store front window, it was colorfully decorated in a theme of Alice in Wonderland… which the month before was Valentines. I spoke with Gina McMurray (owner with Mary Beth Carey) and she stated that they do their best to recycle their window sets into the next; the hearts from Valentine’s day became the mushrooms for Alice. Next, they will be flipped and turned into jellyfish for an underwater scene.

As I poked my nose into their business further I learned than there was a lot of “green” here:

*Recycle all paper.

*Collect vases from customers to be reused .

*No chemicals are added to the flowers once they
arrive at the shop.

They are part of a delivery pool with other florists, in which they get together and swap deliveries that are closer to other florists(no sense in driving all the way to Farragut when they are downtown.)And they from time to time participate in a “Be Green to Save Green”, where all deliveries are on foot instead of truck!

Most of their flowers come from elsewhere, but the Gerber Daisies come from an Eco friendly farm. When they can and when requested, they use local flowers from their manager and designer, Liz Horton, who has her own greenhouse.

AND they contribute to the overall happiness of others with “Spread the Cheer Bouquet.” One location starts with a beautiful bouquet and is asked to enjoy the flowers for an hour or so and then put their name on the card, and pass the flowers along! What a great idea!

You can find them at www.knoxvilleflowerpot.com and on twitter and facebook.

A little bit of happiness found in some flowers smells good!

Our spread the cheer bouquet has made its way to Moxley Carmichael

Thanks to Cynthia Moxley for the Facebook shout out!

"Here's the pretty arrangement The Flower Pot sent to Moxley Carmichael. Everyone is supposed to keep the posies for one hour and then pass them to someone else! They are in Ellen Robinson's office now. Once they make it through MoxCar, they'll go to lawyers across hall! Thanks, Flower Pot!"

Spread the Cheer!

The Flower Pot's new random acts of kindness campaign!!

This morning, The Flower Pot started a fun new project. For the next few weeks we will be randomly delivering fresh arrangements to strangers! These "Spread the Cheer" arrangements come with a note to enjoy it for an hour or so, then pass it on to someone else. It allows people to enjoy flowers, enjoy giving and enjoy recieving- all at once! When the flowers are tired, whoever has the flowers at that point can call us or come by and we'll refresh the arrangement to continue on its journey!

If you've recieved the Spread the Cheer bouquet, or know someone who you think deserves to, please email us at info@knoxvilleflowerpot.com!

What's the difference between The Flower Pot and those internet only florists?

Every order from The Flower Pot is arranged by us and hand delivered in a vase. We never deliver flowers in a box or via Fedex or UPS. Our designers inspect and place each flower so that there's no extra work for the recipient. Our delivery staff delivers your flowers directly to the recipient. Say the person you're sending flowers to isn't home or is not in the office that day? Not a problem! The Flower Pot contacts the sender and the recipient to work out a new delivery. At The Flower Pot you never have to worry about spending money on flowers that will sit outside in a cardboard box or possibly arrive damaged or even dead.

We treat our customers like neighbors because they are our neighbors!
